Dr. Jeevaka Yapa is an American Board certified surgeon that has been practicing the full scope of oral & maxillofacial surgery for over 25 years.

Dr. Yapa completed his four year undergraduate degree in biology and a four year degree is in dentistry at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Yapa then completed a one year internship at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, IL followed by a four year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.

As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Yapa manages a wide variety of problems relating to the face and jaw. He has extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating impacted wisdom teeth as well as replacing missing teeth with implants.

Dr. Yapa practices a full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from TMJ joint replacement surgery, facial trauma surgery and corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery.

Bone Grafting

Over a period of time, the jawbone associated with missing teeth atrophies or is reabsorbed. This often leaves a condition in which there is poor quality and quantity of bone suitable for placement of dental implants. In these situations, most patients are not candidates for placement of dental implants.
